About
Parker Kilian is a Black, queer, nonbinary, transmasculine butch lesbian with he/him pronouns. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and a Chicago transplant since 2021, Parker is a fiery enigma whose mission is to serve humanity through his wisdom, talents, and skills.
He loves to read leisurely books, wordy philosophical texts, and the best series ever, Junie B. Jones. His music taste ranges from edgy, angry punk to sultry, rich rhythm and blues. He meditates in nature and earnestly seeks the approval of his sassy calico, Rosemary. Parker’s hobbies include dancing erratically, picking dandelions, and journaling or writing poetry inspired by Nayyirah Waheed or Langston Hughes.
Parker is a self-taught artist who uses oil paint, acrylic, collage, and mixed media to create fantastic, alluring images drawn from memory. Right now, he is focusing on childhood and ancestral memory, a spiritual and African Diasporic-centered way to honor himself and those who came before him. He uses his art to invoke feelings of vitality, humanity, and emotional complexity. Parker’s art reminds us of the boundless creative mind and the universal elements of nature.
Since 2018, Parker has been a solitary Hoodoo practitioner and rootworker. He draws on the elements of nature and on God's faith to master his work and is always willing to serve humanity through his gifts. From card readings to candle work, engage with him to see what is truly within you.
Lastly, Parker is a dedicated writer. He writes as meditation, as creative song, as poetry. There is music in his words from worlds yet to come. Take a look at his portfolio for examples of his work.
